DeFuniak Springs, Florida, April 15, 2010 – The Walton County Economic DevelopmentAlliance (the Alliance) today announced Mr. Lyle Seigler will be the featured presenter at the Quarterly Roundtable scheduled for May 19th. The event is being held at the DeFuniak Springs Country Club from 7:30 am – 9:00 am. The cost to attend is $15 per person and includes breakfast. Reservations are required and can be made by calling the Alliance office at 850.892.4859 by Wednesday May 12, 2010.
Mr. Seigler will be providing an update on the ongoing transportation projects in Walton County, namely the widening of Highway 331 South and the Choctawhatchee Bay Bridge. Mr. Seigler was recently named County Administrator after serving as the Interim Administrator for over six months. Before being appointed Administrator, Mr. Seigler served Walton County as Public Works Division Director from 2006 to July of 2009, and previously worked for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for 15 years. His last position with FDOT was District Project Development Manager.
In addition to the presentation by Mr. Seigler the Alliance will announce its next round of TIDE Award recipients. The program is designed to recognize businesses and organizations in Walton County that have made investments and created or retained jobs. Applications are available by contacting the Alliance office and will be accepted through May 3, 2010.
